The “NHL Hockey Archive” operates as a cooperative venture between Molson and NHL Productions. Molson’s Hockey Archive recently reached an agreement with the National Hockey League to share their assets and combine them into a “one-stop-shopping” hockey footage library. Molson Sports & Entertainment, a separate division of its parent company, Toronto-based Molson, and New Jersey-based NHL Productions collectively makes decisions regarding acquisition, preservation and maintenance of the collections, negotiation and fulfilment of footage requests and marketing initiatives.

As the NHL Hockey Archive, we operate in a specialist section of the sports stock footage market. Our collection offers the most thoroughly assembled selection of hockey-related footage in the world and is the first comprehensive source for moving imagery of NHL ice hockey. It comprises thousands of hours of contemporary and archival footage dating back to the 1920’s, including exclusive footage that has never before been available for broadcast. The NHL Hockey Archive provides rare shots along with mainstream footage, all of which has been restored.

Our goal is to expand this library of unique and extraordinary material to provide a one-of-a-kind hockey footage archive. This amazing collection includes such great moments as the Maple Leafs’ Bobby Baun scoring in overtime on a broken foot to force game seven against the Red Wings in the 1964 Stanley Cup ® finals, Mark Messier claiming the New York Rangers first Stanley Cup ® in 54 years, and countless moments of Bobby Orr’s illustrious career.
